Back-To-School Day: Tuesday 17th May

On Tuesday we had another 50’s day and it was really fun.  First we met the grumpy old teacher of the last century.  We learnt about the old money and it was hard to add (don’t try it) but somehow we lived through the Maths and we learnt to use nibs and I was left handed!  After the work we took the senior citizens on a tour and served them food.                                 By Ryan

Yesterday was the 17/05/05 and we had back to school day where the grade 4/5/6 dressed up in 50’s and 60’s style.  The girls played skipping, jacks and pick up sticks.  The boys played marbles, jack and pick up sticks.  In the afternoon the senior citizens came and helped us learn about how they went at school.  The grade 4/5/6 served them afternoon tea and then the girls handed out flowers to all the ladies and took them on a tour around the school.

On Tuesday grades 4 to 6 came to school dressed up like kids in the 1950’s.  Also Red Cross people came and helped us after lunch.  They helped us to do old work and it was fun.  Hopefully we will do it again next year.

On Tuesday 17th May grade 4/5/6 had a 1950’s day.  We all dressed like students and teachers that were in the 50’s and we played pick up sticks, marbles and jacks.  We learnt about old money, how to write with pen and ink and did the poem My Country.  When the senior citizens arrived we served afternoon tea.      By Wade
